Sept. 1: Arrive Nairobi Upon arrival in Nairobi, we will be met and assisted at Jomo Kenyatta Airport by our local representative then transferred to our hotel. True, Nairobi is a big bustling city but to me, it is still the staging point for the wonderful safaris that Kenya is justly famous for. There is a lot to see in Nairobi. Karen Blixen’s House and Museum – the first time I visited Kenya I was reading Karen Blixen’s book “OUT OF AFRICA’ well before it was made into a movie. When I arrived at the house (where she lived between 1914 and 1931) I already knew every room and the stunning view. Just down the road is the Kazuri Bead Factory (‘Kazuri’ means Small and Beautiful in Swahili). The factory was started in 1975 as a tiny workshop experimenting in making ceramic beads. The mission today is to provide and sustain employment opportunities for disadvantaged members of Kenyan society. Accommodation: Nairobi Serena Hotel Sept. 2: Nairobi Morning breakfast will be at the hotel. Later we will be taken for a full day city tour of Nairobi with a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum, the Kazuri Bead factory and Giraffe Centre and the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant/Rhino Orphanage with lunch included at a charming guest house. Sheldrick Wildlife Trust: For over 25 years Kenya-born Daphne Sheldrick lived and worked alongside her husband David, during which time they raised and successfully rehabilitated many wild species. Daphne Sheldrick’s involvement with wildlife has spanned a lifetime, and she is now a recognized international authority on the rearing of wild creatures and is the first person to have perfected the milk formula and necessary husbandry for infant milk-dependent Elephants and Rhinos. Accommodation: Nairobi Serena Hotel (B, L, D) Sept. 3: Sweetwaters, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Nanyuki This morning after breakfast we will be driven to Sweetwaters Tented Camp. 39 Luxury tents in a sheltered oasis around a waterhole and set in the calm of its own private reserve. Sweetwaters abounds with wildlife and is designed to offer a charming blend of under canvas ambiance with uncompromising luxury. Due to its private status Sweetwaters allows the unforgettable pleasure of night game drives, guided bush walks and both horse and camel riding across its private game-teeming plains. Host to all the members of the "Big Five" (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo & leopard) the conservancy has a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any Kenyan National park. Accommodation: Sweetwaters Tented Camp (B, L, D) Sept. 4: Sweetwaters & Game Drives Today we spend the day in search of the “Big 5”. We also visit the chimpanzee reserve and the rhino sanctuary. Accommodation : Sweetwaters Tented Camp (B, L, D) Sept. 5: Lake Elmentaita This morning after breakfast, we will be collected for the day’s drive on to the Aberdares mountain range to the floor of the Great Rift Valley, destination Soysambu Ranch where the well-appointed Lake Elmentaita Serena Camp is located. The ecosystem, being part of the great Rift valley and with the presence of the alkaline lake of Elmentaita, supports lots of bird life as well as lots of plans game. Lake Elementaita Serena Luxury Camp is found along the shores of the sparkling sapphire-blue Lake Elementaita. It is situated within the magnificent Soysambu Conservancy in the famous Great Rift Valley. Soysambu is a 48,000 acre, a pristine wildlife sanctuary that is home to many unique wildlife and bird species. Among the many animal species to have found a home here are Rothschild giraffes which now have a safe breeding ground, dik diks, and cliff-dwelling klipspringers. Accommodation: Lake Elmentaita Serena Camp (B, L, D) Sept. 6: Masai Mara National Reserve This morning after breakfast, we will be driven to the Masai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. Secreted deep within the Masai Mara National Reserve, the Mara Serena Safari Lodge is set high on a bush-cloaked hill, embraced by arcing vistas of richly rolling grasslands, centre-stage to Africa’s legendary migration of the wildebeest. Drawing its inspiration from the traditional Maasai cultural motif of a cluster of domed, mud coloured huts encircled by a Boma of brushwood, the Mara Serena offers a rare blend of raw African splendour. The essentially ethnic décor also draws on a vibrant colour-palette of sunburst colours, embellished by a unique selection of Maasai art to create the look and feel of a traditional bush encampment. The lodge features individual rooms, each with their own balcony and view of eternity, a sky-blue swimming pool and a spectacular restaurant, overlooking a water hole where resident animals collect to drink. This afternoon will be a game drive. Accommodation: Mara Serena Safari Lodge (B, L, D) Sept. 7: Maasai Mara Today in early morning we will be taken for a game drive in Masai Mara. Later we will be driven to the appointed site for Hippo pool breakfast provided by Mara Serena Lodge. Thereafter return to our lodge with a game drive en-route. When a tour is cancelled by the Company before the agreed date of departure for any reason other than the fault of the Client, the Client can either:
1. take a substitute tour of equivalent or superior quality if the Company is able and willing to offer such a substitute; or

The Company is not responsible for any incidental expenses or consequential losses that the Client may have incurred as a result of the booking such as insurance premiums, visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail, non refundable car parking or other fees, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment, etc. If the Client is offered a refund but requests an alternative tour of a higher value than that originally booked, then the Client must pay the difference in price. Where after departure a significant element of the trip contracted for cannot be provided, the Company will make suitable alternative arrangements for the continuation of the trip. If it is not possible to provide a suitable alternative or the Client reasonably rejects any suitable alternatives, the Company will provide the Client a refund of unused tour portions. Where a significant alteration or cancellation occurs which is not due to Force Majeure or other circumstances beyond the Company's control, the Company will in some circumstances offer compensation. Significant alterations do not include the substitution of a vessel, modification of itineraries, change in cabin category or hotel accommodation provided it is of the same category.
There will be no discounts or monies refunded for missed or unused services, this includes voluntary or involuntary termination/departure from tour, i.e. sickness, death of a family member etc, late arrival on the tour, or premature departure either voluntarily or involuntarily.
The price of the tours published may go up or down from the time of publication. The Company recommends that the Client finds out the most up to date price of their tours including the costs of any other service provided by the Company at the time of making their booking. The Company reserves the right to increase tour price after the holiday has been booked but will not do so any later than 30 days before the departure date stipulated. After a Confirmation Invoice has been issued any increase to the tour price will be as the result of changes in an increase in transportation costs, including the cost of fuel, dues, taxes or fees chargeable for services such as landing taxes or embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airport charges, including any currency fluctuations. If the increase would be 2% or less of the holiday price the Company will absorb the changes in its costs of providing the tour. However if the increase is more than 2% the Company will pass this increase on to the Client.
Where the increase in price is more than 7% of the Clients holiday price then in these circumstances the Clients may either:
1. withdraw from the contract without incurring any penalty; or
